Steven E. North

Steven E. North, 72, of Black River Falls, died on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on August 15, 1952 in Sparta to John and Edna Mae (Gilbertson) North. He grew up in Sparta and graduated from Sparta High School. He served in the National Guard with the 107th Maintenance Company in Sparta.

Steven married Lois Taylor on March 25, 1972. They resided in Cataract. Together, they had 3 children. They later divorced, after 31 years of marriage, in 2003. 

Steven is survived by his children, Eric (Tammy) North, Gary (Jamie) North, and Tricia (Jeffrey) Zillmer; grandchildren, Kevin North, Zachary Neumann, Hayley (Brock) Thomas, Zachary (Brianna) Kelley, Mariah Kelley, Abygail North, Johnathon (Kassondra) Zillmer, Ashley (James) Lutz, Amber (Anthony) Lamp, and Casey Zillmer; great-grandchildren, Preston, Luke, Blake, Alex, Allison, Dawson, Braelynn, Jasmine, Sophia, Elizabeth, Annabelle, Casey, Marcella, Baby Zillmer, and Baby Kelley; brother, Roger North; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Edna Mae; and former wife, Lois.

A memorial service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Sparta Eagles Club with Reverend Loretta Waughtal officiating.

Family and friends are invited for visitation from 10:30 a.m. until 12 noon on April 5, 2025 at Sparta Eagles Club. A luncheon will follow. Online condolences may be offered at www.schanhoferfh.com
