Theresa L. Brueggeman

Theresa L. Brueggeman, 66, of Tomah and formerly of Sparta, died Monday, May 13, 2024 at her home. She was born November 18, 1957 in Sparta to Lawrence and Edith (Kirk) Yeske. She grew up in Sparta and graduated from Sparta High School.

Theresa married Duane Brueggeman at St. Joseph’s Middle Ridge Church in 1981. They lived in Rockland, Bangor, and Cashton. Duane passed away May 28, 2003.

Theresa worked at Highlight Inc. for over 40 years, as well as Hansen’s IGA in Bangor for 16 years. She moved to Tomah in 2020. She loved reading, watching the television show, Stargate, paranormal shows, and listening to country music.

Theresa is survived by her daughter, Johanna (Damian Murphy) Brueggeman of Tomah; sons, James (Karen) Brueggeman of Ft. Atkinson, WI, and John Brueggeman of Georgia; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings, Mary Abbott of Sparta, Barbara (Edward) Gunzenhauzer of Richmond, VA, Susan (Norman) Matson of Sparta, Jeanne (Ronald) Button of Sparta, Anita Yeske of Sparta, David (Shiela) Yeske of Sparta; sister-in-law, Antionette Yeske of Mindoro; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Duane; brother, Lawrence “Butch” Yeske Jr.; and daughter-in-law, Deb.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, May 17, 2024, at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home and Cremation in Sparta, with Father Eric Berns officiating. Burial will be at a later time in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Bangor.
