Thomas Joseph Bullen, 72, of Sparta, died Saturday, January 30, 2021, at his home surrounded by family. He was born on November 13, 1948, to Spencer and Margaret (Kolb) Bullen, in Milwaukee.
Thomas left school early to join the US Army in 1965, serving until his honorable discharge in 1970 while receiving two Bronze Stars for gallant action in combat. He worked as a field service technician in wastewater treatment for U.S. Filter. Given his occupation, Thomas was able to travel all over the world. He lived in Singapore for 8 years where he met his future wife, Cecilia Santos. He moved to the Sparta area in 2001. Thomas enjoyed fishing, deer hunting and loved to have a good time no matter where he was.
He is survived by his two sons, Brian (Aoy) Bullen, of Sparta, and Anthony (Barbara) Bullen, of Beavercreek, OH; his wife, Cecilia Bullen; three grandchildren, Alyssa Bullen, Sabrina (Daniel) Goodman, and Spencer Bullen; the mother of his children, Sharon Bullen; a sister, Rita (Steve) Held, of Onalaska; and his three step-children, JJ, MJ, and JC Ison.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Spencer and Margaret Bullen; and a brother, William Bullen.
