Thomas H. Leis

Thomas Henry Leis, 64, of Sparta, died Tuesday, May 24, 2022 in Portland as a result of a farming accident. He was born in Sparta, on July 22, 1957 to Joseph and Ardella (Schreier) Leis.

He grew up in the Cashton area and graduated from Cashton High School. After graduation he worked with his father at Portland Cheese Factory; then Golden Guernsey (now Foremost Farms), and retired in 2020.

Thomas married Maria J Moore on November 4, 1995 in Sparta.  

He was an avid outdoorsmen, who enjoyed hunting and ice fishing.

Thomas is survived by his wife, Maria of Sparta; children, Kolby Leis, Kaden Leis, Serena Veloso, and Craig Leis; mother, Ardella; siblings, Julie (Dennis) Hemmersbach, Karen (Don) Semann, David (Tammy) Leis, Alan (Sue) Leis, Randy (Brenda) Leis, and Pam (Todd) Erickson. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph.
