Victor H. Tucker

Victor H. Tucker, 94, of Sparta, died Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Rolling Hills Rehabilitation Center, Sparta. He was born on June 22, 1928 in Sparta to Myron and Claire (Becker) Tucker. He grew up in Sparta and graduated from Sparta High School.

Victor started working for the railroad at age 16 and worked 47 years for them until his retirement. He served in the US Army during the Korean War from 1950 until 1952. He received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star.

Victor enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and loved animals. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sparta.

Victor is survived by his nephews, Michael (Cheri) Tucker Lake City, MN and Ralph (Heidi) Tucker of Hutchinson, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Myron and Claire; and siblings, Alice Tucker and Myron (Mary) Tucker.

A private graveside burial will be held.

Family and friends are invited for a visitation from 10:00A.M.-11:00A.M., on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home and Cremation. Full military honors will be provided by VFW Post 2112 and American Legion Post 100 of Sparta.
