Violet M. Revels

    Violet M. Revels, 93, of Sparta, passed away, Sunday, June 7, 2020, at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse. She was born on September 13, 1926, in the Milwaukee area, to William and Marvell (Hoffert) Stelter. Violet married Rome Revels and moved to the Sparta area where she spent the majority of her life. She especially enjoyed baking bread and cookies, playing cards and shaking dice. Her family and friends were the most important parts of her life. Violet was a loving mother, grandmother and great-great grandmother.

     Survivors include her son, Larry (Marilyn) Revels; daughter-in-law, Janet Revels; grandchildren, Kelly Revels, Jerrid Revels, Jill (Dave) Eitland, Kathy (Brian) LaValley, and Kory (Melissa) Revels; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Donald Stelter, James Stelter, and Bruce Stelter; and many special nieces and nephews.

     Violet was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rome; son, Jerome “Jerry” Revels; granddaughter, Jean Revels; and her siblings, William, Jr., Lorraine, Betty, Bob, Vivian, Margaret, Mary Lou, Duane, Alton, La Vern, Darlene, Luane, Eugene, Lester, and Dale.

     Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 11, 2020, at the Congregational United Church of Christ, Sparta. Rev. Stephen Davis will officiate. A private family burial will be held at a later date. A visitation will be held from 10 a.m., until the time of service; Thursday, at the church.
