Wallace Harold Dutton, Sparta, age 75, passed away peacefully on March 23rd, 2022 at the Tomah VA Medical Center surrounded by his loving sons. He was born March 15, 1947 in Sparta to the late Ralph and Yolanda (Rocco) Dutton. Wally graduated from Sparta High School and was a life-long resident of Sparta, WI. On July 25, 1971, he married JoAnne Armstrong at Trinity Lutheran in Sparta. Wally served his country in the Navy during Vietnam. He then worked for many years as a Nursing Assistant at the Tomah V.A. Hospital. His family was his greatest love and joy. He loved watching his children and grandchildren participate in wrestling and baseball – most recently following his grandsons’ baseball games using his iPad.
Wally is survived by his two sons: Joel (Kathy) Dutton of Kenosha, WI and Kevin (Miriam Santiago) Dutton of Chicago, IL. Grandsons: Reese, Riley and Rory Dutton. He is further survived by his sisters Pam (Mike) Fisher, Margie (Steve) Morawiec and Terry Waterworth; his sisters-in-law Edith (Leonard) Richmond and Patricia Armstrong, and brother-in-law Milt (Johnny) Armstrong; many family relatives, nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his wife, JoAnne, of 48 years, Wally was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Yolanda Dutton; sister Bonita Dutton; father and mother-in-law Milton and Alvera (Johnson) Armstrong and sister-in-law Donna Travis.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 13, 2022 in Angelo Oak Grove Cemetery, Angelo, with Reverend Randy Williamson officiating. Military honors will be provided by VFW Post 2112 and American Legion Post 100 of Sparta.
