Wayne A. Bohl, 64, of Sparta, died Sunday, July 11, 2021 at Gundersen Health System, La Crosse. He was born December 15, 1956, to Virgil and Harriet (Herman) Bohl in Sparta.
Wayne graduated from Sparta High School. He worked for his dad at Bohl’s Washed Sand, Gravel & Excavating. He married Sandy Andringa and later divorced. He worked at Leibelt Forest Product in Cataract and Allen Gerke and Sons.
Wayne married Sherri Zellmer on September 5, 1987. In May 1991, he started Wayne Bohl Trucking. He owned and operated his trucking business until he retired in 2014.
Wayne loved summers at his Castle Rock Lake home and his many good friends there. He enjoyed boating, riding ATV, snowmobiling, motorcycles, hot rods, traveling in his motor home to Sturgis, Florida, and northern Wisconsin. He loved snowmobile trips out west and up north and wintering in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Sherri of Sparta; son, Brad (Shelley) Bohl; grandchildren, Hayden and Haylee; sister, Lisa (Kevin) Jenkins, Leah and Colby all of Sparta; mother-in-law, Sandra (Bob) Reddelien of Oconomowoc, WI; and sister-in-law, Lori Chopp of Sparta.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Harriet; father-in-law, Ed Zellmer, and faithful dog, Duke.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 17, 2021, at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home and Cremation, Sparta, with Reverend Mark Kvale officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Sparta.
Family and friends are invited to call from 10 a.m. until time of services on Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Wisconsin Chapter.
