Wayne Arthur Oesterle

Wayne Arthur Oesterle, 67, of Norwalk, passed away Thursday, July 1, 2021 in La Crosse, WI. He was born on July 25, 1953 in La Crosse, WI. He was the youngest of eleven children.

  Wayne grew up in Irish Coulee on a farm and attended school in West Salem. Later on the family moved to Sparta and he began his life work at the foundry.

Wayne married Cheryl Abbott and was blessed with two children. They later divorced. Wayne then married Peggy Schroeder and another son was added to his family. They too, later divorced. Upon Wayne’s death, he was engaged to his current love Bobbi Baker.

  Wayne is survived by his son Bryan (Amy); daughter Tina; step-son Chris (Jamie) Schroeder; fiance Bobbi and her son Jordan; grandchildren Alexandria (Christopher) Schultes, Morgan (Joshua) Cherry, Montana and Zachary Oesterle, Macy Thomas, baby Harper Cherry and Aliyah and Ayden Schroeder.

  Wayne is further survived by sisters Loraine Thillen, Alys Oesterle and Linda (Joel) Dow; brothers Al (Dorothy), Harold (Lori) and LaVern (Bobbie); sisters-in-law Sandra and Virginia Oesterle. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

  Wayne is preceded in death by his parents Alvin and Nellie; brothers Robert and Kenneth; sisters Louise and Helen; brothers-in-law Valery Thillen, Vernon Lund and Norman Renk.

  A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home and Cremation, Sparta with burial to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Sparta. For online condolences please visit www.schanhoferfh.com.

  A celebration of life will later be held from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at Linda Lou’s (214 N. Water St.) in Sparta.
